Venue Information

Venue

• WILU 2023 is being held on the McGill University downtown campus.
• Breakout rooms, breakfast, and lunches will be located in the Trottier Building. Information on accessible entrances can be found online.
• The opening and closing keynote addresses will be held in the McConnell Engineering Building. Information on accessible entrances can be found online.

WiFi Access

• Guest WiFi is available on the McGill campus. Conference attendees can sign into McGill’s guest WiFi network to access the Internet for a 24-hour period. After 24 hours, guests can reconnect using the same method. See this page for more information.
• Eduroam is also available for guests at McGill from participating institutions. To find out if your institution is partnered with eduroam, view the list online.

Meditation and Prayer Services

There are a number of Quiet Spaces on the Downtown campus to be used for spirituality, rest, and reflection. Any member of the McGill community may drop in for up to 15 minutes at a time during the associated building’s regular hours.

There are also spaces dedicated specifically for Chrsitian, Jewish, and Muslim worship and prayer.

Transportation

747 STM

• The 747 shuttle service run by the STM is offered 24 hours a day, 7 days a week between YUL Montréal Trudeau airport and the metro stations Lionel-Groulx and Berri-UQAM and the Gare d’Autocars de Montréal. More information on the route and fairs are located online.

Taxis

• Taxis are available from the arrivals area and have a flat rate from YUL Montréal-Trudeau to downtown. More information is located online.

Uber

• Uber is available in Montréal. The airport has a designated zone in the arrivals section for Uber pick-up. More information can be found online.

Designated accessible parking spaces

There are six designated accessible parking spaces for visitors with a permit for parking in spaces designated for persons with disabilities. Note that these parking spaces are available on a first come, first served basis.

• 2 parking spaces by the Redpath Museum.
• 2 parking spaces on the east side of the James Administration Building.
• 2 parking spaces behind the Wilson Hall (campus side).

Should you wish to park on the main campus the cost is $3.50/30 minutes to a maximum of $20 for the day. Payment can be made by cash, credit card or debit card when you leave.

There are many parking spaces for visitors to the McGill campus. You will find information on their locations and rates at the Visitor parking webpage.

Travelling around the city

• The STM is Montréal’s public transit system and includes both bus and metro services around the island. Visit their website to find more information on rates and routes.
• BIXI is Montréal’s bike rental system and is a great way to get around. BIXI stations are located around the McGill University campus and downtown area. For more information on locations and rates, visit their website.
